Mangaluru : Relatives and Family members of Poovakka who died after conceiving a baby boy, gathered at Lady Goschen hospital and also at Wenlock claiming the doctors responsible for her death.

The deceased Poovakka, a resident of Ajjavara in Sullia. She was 32. She had delivered a baby boy at Lady Goschen Hospital on April 21and the baby had been kept in incubator. The mother and the baby were both discharged in some days. On May 5, Poovakka was admitted to Wenlock Hospital as she reportedly developed health complications and she died in the hospital on May 7.

The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.

It is said, the doctors had advised for a scanning in Wenlock hospital to her legs got swelling, then Poovakka was shifted to ICU in Lady Goschen hospital. But as her health deteriorated doctors told the family to shift her to Wenlock hospital. But on May 7 Poovakka died after failing to respond to the treatment.

Her husband Ganesh has registered a complaint with the Bunder police.
