Mangalore: C Manjula, Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission has come down heavily on the failure and negligence of the police department in the district in preventing the Morning Mist Home Stay attack,
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore, she said the police had failed to act even after members of the general public complained of the unlawful activities underway at the home stay. She also alleged that the police had failed to check the illegal home stays in the district.
She said the party was arranged by Gurudutt and Vijay to celebrate the birthday of a girl and that several friends of the girl too had come to the home stay but were unaware till the last minute as to where the party had been arranged.
She said the police negligence was glaring and added in this case the police department need to undertake a thorough probe and bring the culprits to book. She also exhorted organizations against taking law into hands.
She said the Commission would be submitting its report to the Home Ministry and the Chief Minister. She said the Commission sympathized with the victimized girls and was ready to provide all possible assistance to them.
