Mangalore : Former union minister and senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari has directed all party workers to concentrate on the forthcoming assembly elections and the strategy to be evolved by the party, without bothering much about the outcome of the Mangalore City Corporation and other local body elections.
He was speaking at a party workers and leaders meeting held at the party’s election office in Mangalore on March 8, Friday. Pointing out that leaders and workers have strived unitedly for the party during the recently held urban local body polls, he urged the party men to maintain unity even n the future. He also congratulated all party workers and leades for their hard works.
He said there were plans to hold a mega convention of party worker of Mangalore North and South constituencies at the Nehru Maidan in view of the forthcoming elections.
The party also celebrated the 61st birth anniversary of DCC Chief B Ramanatha Rai on the occasion. AICC Member PV Mohan, former mayors Gulzar Banu, Shashidhar Hegde, and several party leaders including JR Lobo, Ibrahim Kodijal, SM Masood were present.
