Mangalore : A workshop for teachers was organised in the city on June 26, Wednesday on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The function was organised by Link Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts, Bajal in collaboration with Talent Research Foundation.
MLA of Mangalore South JR Lobo inaugurated the programme. He expressed his concern over the increasing drug abuse of youngsters and that the drugs mafia was targeting educational centres.
He also stressed the need to create awareness on the menace of drug abuse and urged the public to join hands towards building a society free from drug abuse.
Abdul Rauf Puthige, Founder President of Talent Research Foundation, Dr Olinda Pereira, Moses Jayashekar, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Dr Sathish Rao, Link president, Lydia, link administrator, Judith Mascarenhas and others were present.
