Belgaum:   A 3 day bash of World Kannada Conference due in Belgaum, the northern border city that Maharashtra covets but cannot usurp, has begun. The mega event due on March 11 for 3 days on a week-end. Officials and preparations committee members are racing against time toiling to complete all arrangements.
The BJP Govt. has allocated funds of Rs.30 crore for the whole prime event in the history of Karnataka. It is being held after 25 years, and information technology tycoon and Infosys mentor, Dr.N.R.Narayana Murthy will inaugurate the august assembly of Kannadigas, on March 11(afternoon).
The CM has rejected all objections raised against Dr.Murthy, by small men and their organisations in Karnataka. They had given all wrong reasons for his removal as the inaugurating personality. They overlooked his educational institutions in Mysore.
CM stood by him. Dr.Murthy wanted English knowledge for students to hold quality positions in Indian society, and he had the active support of parents.
