Udupi:  World Photographers Day was celebrated  by Udupi Pioneer Photographers’ Association (UPPA)  at Ravindra Mantapa of  MGM College in Udupi on August 19. As part of the celebrations, a photo exhibition ‘Varsha Vaibhava’ displaying photographs of the same theme, was organized on the occasion.

Actress Sanjana of ‘Mahanadi’ film fame, was present as a chief guest and the programme was inaugurated by clicking her photographs.

Astro Mohan, President of UPPA, Raghupathi Bhat, MLA,  Pramod Madhwaraj, Block Congress President,U.R Sabhapathi,former MLA, Udaykumar Shetty, President, Udupi District BJP and Prof. Herinje Krishna Bhat, were present as chief guests.

Veteran photographer Nagaraj Varambally was conferred the ‘UPPA Puraskara’ award on the occasion. Prizes were distributed to the winners of Varsha Vaibhava contest by Uday Kumar Shetty.’Tuluva’, a quarterly magazine authored by Prof H Krishna Bhat, was released by U R Sabhapathi Rao on the occasion.
