​​Udupi : Water scarcity in the city is being dealt with tankers supplying the required water to various areas. However, in an incident reported on Tuesday, worms were found in water supplied to SC Colony in Bannanje.

It is said that water was being supplied once in two days. Though the water was meant for drinking, it had a bad smell. However, on Tuesday the water supplied was found to have worms. When questioned, the tanker driver said that the water was filled from Baje dam.

A member of a local committee alleged that clean water was being supplied to other areas but dirty water was supplied in that area as it was a Scheduled Caste colony.
