Mangalore : The students of Madhusudhan Kushe College under the banner Youth Against Corruption (YAC), Mangalore Chapter under the aegis of ABVP staged a protest in front of DC Office on November 9, Wednesday against the corruption.
Addressing the protestors, ABVP organizing secretary Ramesh said that the students have formed the organization YAC in the district, since the corruption is seen in district to fulfill every work of common people.
Speaking about the ‘Padasaale’ opened at DC Office, he said that there is coupon system implemented at RTC division of Padasaale, and around 300 to 350 people go and get the coupon but the rich people pay additional Rs 50 to the counter or to the mediators to get the coupon and the poor people wait for it till evening. Hence this department must immediately stop this corruption, he added.
The corruption is increasing in the sub registrar office. The register application will generally cost Rs 130 to Rs 150, but people take it by paying extra amount from sub registrar office. The officials take Rs 500 bribe to register the land worth Rs One lakh, he said.
He also said that the people will not have their work done unless they give money to the concerned officials in the district administration.
The organization also warned the government office and the government to stop the corruption taking place in their respective offices, or they would stage violent protest against corruption to create awareness among the public.
