Bantwal : Vishwanath Shetty who was well known for his contributions to the Tenku – Badagthittu Yakshagana is passed away on Friday morning at his residence due to illness.
He is a resident of Barjaradda, Ajjipadpu village of Bantwal Taluk. He served for Yakshagana for several years with his splendid performances. He learnt some of the Yakshagana things from Kavur Keshav, but most of the things were learnt by him itself.
He served in Kateel, Kadri, Mangaladevi, Hiriyadka and Saligrama mela’s. Moreover he used to play Yakshagana in both Kannada and Tulu. He was famous for his Krishna’s role in Shree Krishna Parandhama play.
His followers and colleagues were seen paying final tribute to him. He left behind his wife, a daughter and two sons.
