Belthangady: Renowned Yakshagana artiste Aruva Narayana Shetty (58) met a tragic end when he suffered a massive cardiac arrest while performing on stage at Belthangady on September 19.
Shetty collapsed on stage while performing during the Ganeshotsava celebrations at Shirlalu Mahalingeshwara Temple. He was playing the role of Krishna when he collapsed on the shoulders of the artiste who was playing Subhadra’s role.
Aruva Shetty who stopped education after SSLC took to Yakshagana at a very young age and had been a part of several Yakshagana troupes.
