Mangalore: A Yatri Nivas constructed at a cost of Rs 49.5 lakhs at the premises of the famous Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple in Mangalore, for the benefit of devotees from far off places, will be inaugurated by Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala on September 22, Saturday at 10.30 am in the presence of Sri Sandhyanathaji Swamiji of Kadri Sri Yogishwar Bhat.
Informing this to reporters at the Abhisheka Hall of Kadri Temple, here on September 17, Monday, AJ Shetty, President of the Temple Committee, said the Yatri Nivas comprises of 24 full fledged rooms including three large suites of 320 square feet and 21 other rooms of 120 square feet each.
The inaugural function will be presided over by N Yogish Bhat, MLA and Deputy Speaker. Vedamurthi Derebail Vittaldas Tantri will give a religious discourse. District Minister CT Ravi and Mujrai Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari will be among other dignitaries to grace the occasion, he informed.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President, who also spoke, said a special seminar on “ The contributions of Natha Cult to the spirituality of the land” will be held on September 23 at the Kadri Kshetra. Several personalities including the Kadri Mutt head,Odiyoor seer, Dr KM Lokesh, Dr AV Navada, Dr Neelakantha Swami, Tulu Academy President Umanath Kotian, Tukaram Poojari and others will speak at the seminar.
Temple Executive Officer Ningaiah, K Raghavendra Adiga, Devadas Kumar, Niveditha Shetty, Ananthakrishna Bhat, Roopa D Bangera, Dayakar Mendon and Rohidas Kadri were also present at the press meet.
