Bangalore: With the BS Yeddyurappa faction in the state BJP once again getting ready to demand a change in leadership, Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has cancelled his tour to Bijapur distirct scheduled on Tuesday.
It may be recalled here that several Yeddyurappa confidantes who met at Yeddy’s residence on Monday evening had demanded convening of a legislative party meeting. The dissident camp is expected to meet again on Tuesday.
It is believed that the CM who was disgruntled by the dissidence that has once again raised its ugly head, had chosen to cancel his Bijapur visit. It is learnt, the dissidents are not happy with the CM’s recent statement that he would convene the legislative party meet if the high command wished so. Though the dissidents are arguing that the meet has to be convened to discuss the developmental issue, the real intention was something different.
The meeting at Yeddy’s residence was attended among others by ministers Jagdish Shettar, CM Udasi, V Somanna, Basavaraj Bommai, Murugesh Nirani, MP Renukacharya and others.
