Bangalore: On an urgent call from the BJP top leadership, B.S. Yeddyurappa air-dashed to New Delhi early this week, and returned to Bangalore on Thursday, Dec 15.
He met several leaders including party national president, Nitin Gadkari, who asked him to meet L.K. Advani, after hearing his stand about returning to the chief ministership in Karnataka by Jan 15, 2012.
When all other leaders threw up their hands, and pointed to Advani, Yeddy had to win over Advani Somehow, to realise his ambitions.
But Advani warned the other top leaders that he would retire from politics altogether, if under any circumstances, BJP is handed over to Yeddyurappa on a platter, whether the party or Government.
This only meant that Yeddy should maintain silence, and not create any noises around. Even the Kodimath Hassan Swamiji in his soothsaying on Monday had warned an eager Yeddy, wanting to know his future that his stars were not in order to be CM, and he should keep silent.
Advani has confirmed the forecast, and refused to accept whatever explanations Yeddy offered.
Both Sriramulu and Yeddy form the 2 extremities of BJP existence in state.
Instead of allowing DVS Gowda to carry on for 18 months, both want to remove him, or break up the party.
Yeddyurappa thinks that all BJP MLAs are in favour of his becoming CM again, but hiving suffered over months to dislodge him, the Delhi leaders neither want him as head of the state party unit, nor as CM, as the chargesheets against him are still not withdrawn, and Lokayukta court can still put Yeddy back in jail, anyday.
Yeddyurappa’s politicial intransigence and ambitions would cost him dear, to walk out of BJP and form another political party, just as Sriramulu had thought of.
Where are the followers, and will they arrive before next (2014) state elections? If and when Yeddy quits BJP he will, like Sriramulu, not be allowed to come back, looking at the huge capacity of his mischief against him own party.
BJP, meanwhile, is passing through sever attacks of ill health.
