Bangalore: In another development of the day, former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa who is in trouble following simultaneous CBI raids on his residences and that of his sons, has filed an anticipatory bail plea in the CBI court. It has also been learnt that three other family members of the former CM including his sons too have filed for anticipation bails.
A day after registering an FIR, CBI officials conducted the raids at eight premises belonging to Yeddyurappa, his sons BY Raghavendra, a Lok Sabha member, and BY Vijayendra as well as son-in-law Sohan Kumar in Bangalore and Shimoga district. The CBI also raided the offices of JSW Steel and South West Mining Company Limited in Bellary, besides searching the house of a mining leaseholder.
The raids came within less than 24 hours after the CBI filed an FIR against the former CM under the MMDR and Prevention of Corruption Act.
