Puttur: Former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa who seems to be all set to quit the BJP if he was not granted the state BJP presidentship, has reportedly contacted former Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty over telephone requesting her not to join any party but to be on his side According to sources, Yeddyurappa is on the lookout for some eligible leader who can lead the women’s wing of his proposed party.
Shakuntala Shetty has confirmed reports that Yeddy had contacted her. At the same time she said she was indecisive on her future course of action. It may be recalled here that Shetty on several earlier occasions had she, in all likelihood would be contesting from Puttur during the next elections.
It may be recalled here that sometime back former CM and JD(S) leader Kumaraswamy too had met Shakuntala at her residence and reportedly invited her to join the JD(S).
