Bangalore: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday left for Delhi to hold a meeting with BJP senior leaders, including LK Advani, to resolve the crisis in the party’s Karnataka unit over leadership issue.

Before leaving for Delhi, Yeddyurappa told reporters that he and some of his party leaders would meet BJP president Nitin Gadkari and general secretary Arun Jaitley in a bid to resolve the issue.

“We will also meet Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh,” he added.

Yeddyurappa said he has lot of respect for the central leadership and also RSS and would abide by whatever they decide on leadership issue.

Yeddyurappa was called to Delhi soon after BJP suffered defeat at the hands of Congress in the Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha bypoll, a seat held by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.

Yeddyurappa, under a directive from the party’s central leadership yesterday, called off the boycott of legislature session and he and his loyalist MLAs participated in the session today.

The former CM was forced to quit on July 31 last year after the Lokayukta report on illegal mining had indicted him but he was given a clean chit by the state High court on March 7.
