Kundapur: Residents of Amasebail in the taluk were surprised when they experienced a brief downpour of ‘yellow’ rain on Saturday.

Locals say that once it had stopped raining, there were yellow spots on vehicles, rooftops and on roads. They say that they experienced a similar kind of rain about two years ago. They claimed that the drops felt powderish.

Experts say that the exact cause for the rain could be determined only after samples were examined.

They say that the ‘yellow’ rain could be due to dust in the atmosphere or due to pollen grains of a particular plant. Further, chemical industries could also be one of the reasons for such kind of rain.
