Mangalore : The Dept of Orthopaedics, Yenepoya University Hospital, Derlakatte, Mangalore is conducting a 3 days ‘Free Spine and Limb Deformity Camp’ from Feb 18 to Feb 20, at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Derlakatte, as a part of their chariatable activities and Health Care Awareness Campaign, said Dr Imthiaz Ahmed, professor of Yenepoya College.
Speaking at the press meet held at press club on Feb 15, Tuesday, he said that scoliosis is a Spinal Deformity due to sideward bending of the back bone. This Deformity can cause postural imbalance and lead to muscle fatigue and pain. It can be present at birth or it can develop later. This condition can be rectified completely by surgery, for this early diagnosis and orthopaedic care is essential. Mild to moderate cases can be treated with observation and bracing.
The camp comprises of free consultation, free blood and urine tests, free X- Ray and free medicines. CT Scan, MRI Scan charges will be at a very nominal rate after admission. The Camp also provides free Bone Mineral Density check up. If the patient requires surgery it will be performed at very confessional rates. Specialists and experts in the field of Orthopaedic will be in charge of this camp.
Director of Yenepoya Group of concerns Mohammed Farhad Yenepoya will grace the occasion as chief guest and Principal of Yenepoya Medical College Dr Ghulam Jeelani Quadri will be the guest of Honour.
