Speaking as a chief guest during the International Yoga Day celebration hosted online by the department of Yogic Science of University College Mangaluru, here on Monday, he added that Yoga is good for our wellness which includes physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual health. Yoga, which is beyond cast, religion, gender and time, can help us to stay away from lifestyle diseases.
Resource Person, Mangalore University Yogic Science Department Head Dr. K Krishna Sharma said, our life routine, which means sleep, cleanliness and food are important for good health. However, our lifestyle too plays a crucial role. Yoga is the confluence of our body, mind and soul which maintains a balance.
Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai delivered introductory address. Sushmitha Shetty and Umanath K of Yogic Science department gave a demonstration on Yoga and meditation respectively. JV Shetty, an old student of the department and Prithvinarayana Bhat performed some Yoga postures. Dr. Ajithesha N H mastered the ceremony.
