Kundapur :  Nineteen year old Chaitra who  had set herself ablaze after dousing herself with kerosene on July 20, Saturday, died at the Wenlock Hospital in the night.

The girl who was the daughter of Ratna Mogaveerti hailing from Kotebagilu was reportedly tortured by her uncle Sheena Mogaveera and decided to end her life unable to bear the harassment. It is learnt, the previous night her uncle who had come home drunk had then assaulted her.

 She was staying with her uncle after her father deserted her mother to marry another woman. Though Chaitra was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kundapur, she was later shifted to Wenlock. She had sustained 90 per cent burns and breathed her last.
