Kasargod : A young man was found dead in a deserted are at Mahinbad in Chattanchal on May 2, Thursday. The deceased has been identified as  Krishnan (28) of Puttariadka in Chattanchal.

Police have arrested one Nawaz (28) said to be a close friend of the deceased. It is learnt, an altercation between the two led to the strangulation of Krishnan by Nawaz. It is learnt Krishnan owed Rs 50,000 to Nawaz. He had reportedly borrowed the amount for his sister’s wedding.

Police have also recovered  two beer bottles, a water bottle and plastic bag from the place where Krishnan was found dead.

The two were earlier seen on Wednesday afternoon, coming out with  food packets. There is a suspicion that the murder was committed under the influence of alcohol.
