Kundapur: In a tragic incident reported, a youngster, supposedly suffering from depression died after falling into a pond near Bandsale in the taluk on Friday.

Shashidhar (21) was employed in Bengaluru. He used to often visit his village for treating his depression. On Friday, his family was not able to find him. A search found that his footwear was floating in a pond.

The police and fire personnel were informed. They rushed to the spot but were unable to trace the body. An expert diver was called and he managed to retrieve the body.

A case of unnatural death was registered.
