Udupi : A youth identified as Aboobakker Siddique(23) hailing from Parkala has been arrested on the charges of kidnapping a minor Dalit girl and then raping her for nearly a month.

The arrest was following a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother who said the accused had kidnapped her 15 year old daughter and had taken her to Bangalore in May and had been holding her there since then.

Reports said the accused managed to threaten the girl and repeatedly rape her after threatening to kill her. The arrest took place at Manipal and the victim girl has been sent to the remand home.

Investigations are in progress.
