Bantwal : A man from Ponnody breathed his last at a hospital at Mangaluru suspected dengue fever on Saturday.
The deceased Prashanth alias Pachchu Ponnody (39), son of the late Balan from Ponnody near Talapady in B Mooda in the taluk.
Prashanth was suffering from fever since the last several days and treatments had failed to improve his condition. Therefore he was admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru. After he was shifted to Mangaluru, the doctors diagnosed that he was suffering from dengue.
Prashanth was the third of four sons of the late Balan and the late Sarojini couple. He was unmarried and used to operate a truck and also serve as its driver. He is survived by two sisters and three brothers.
His family sources stated that he did not respond to treatment and passed away late night on Saturday.
