Kasargod: A youth drowned in Chandragiri river near Perumbala bridge after a boat capsized here on Saturday August 22.

The deceased has been identified as Niyaz (23), a resident of Chiruvadukal, Perumbala.

It is said, the deceased and three others went catching fish in Chandragiri river, while returning, the boat crashed into the pillar of the bridge, three of them managed to swim ashore. Niyaz drowned in deep water, his body found a short distance

Vidyanagar police arrived at the spot. The body was shifted to Kasargod general hospital for post-mortem.
