Kasargod :  A youth was hacked to death at Naykap near Kumble in the district during late-night hours on Monday August 17.

The victim has been identified as Harish (38) from Naykap and he working for a Bhagavathi oil mill, at Naykap

It is said, He was returning home after duty hours in the night was attacked by unknown persons. Harish was found lying in a pool of blood on the road about a hundred metres away from his home. A pedestrian who noticed him, immediately informed to the Kumble police.

In the help of locals, the police took him to Kumble hospital and then to a private hospital here, but Harish’s life could not be saved.

The police said that grievous injuries he received in his neck and head regions caused Harish’s death.

The police believe this to be a murder backed by personal enmity. They are also exploring the possibility of any other angle to this murder.

The investigation is on.
