Puttur: After drowning in a private swimming pool, a 19-year-old youth lost his life at Darbe on Tuesday.

Deceased has been identified as Karthik Rai (19) son of Gangadhar and Savitha. He was a resident of Alankar near Puttur.

Negligence of the pool management and security has been sighted as the reason behind the death. In past many deaths have taken place in the same pool.

Police have said that if the allegations against the pool management proven then stern action will be taken against them.

A case has been registered at Puttur town police station under IPC section 174 (C).
