Mangalore : A 26 year old woman from Belthangady was stabbed on her head and hands by a youth on April 22, Monday after she turned down his love and refused to marry him. The girl who worked in a hospital in Mangalore and stayed at a relative’s house, has been admitted to hospital.

It is learnt the youth named Umakanth who works in a hotel, came to know about the young woman about six months ago., On April 22, Monday, he approached her and demanded that she married him. When she refused, he stabbed her.

The girl who was lying unconscious was admitted to hospital by an autorickshaw driver.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case and have launched a search for the youth.
