Mangalore : Make a Difference (MAD), a youth volunteer network that works with underprivileged children in India was inaugurated a programme ‘Go Mad’ at City Centre Mall on August 6, Saturday.

The programmes are been organized to raise funds to provide Cambridge syllabus textbooks to 300 children by its Mangalore Chapter.

MAD has been established to empower kids in orphanages, streets, shelters, and those weak in English, in collaboration with Cambridge University Press. The English project takes learners from starter to intermediate level using Cambridge English for Schools.

Speaking after inaugurating the event, Dr Akhter Hussain, professor and head of orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Yenepoya Medical and Dental College said that this is a good initiative by the organization to bring the students to light from dark.

He also said that now days the mall is buzzing with young and energetic students, which itself makes a difference.  No person is born big or small, when it is compared to education and in this situation, MAD is superior among god’s grace, he added.

SM Arshad, managing director, Motisham, Chandrika of Department of Women and Child Welfare and MAD President (Mangalore Chapter) Greeshma Rai were present on the occasion.
