Udupi: Asa many as 800 Yuva Brigade members from 13 districts took participation in the ‘Kanaka Nade’, a cleaning drive at Udupi Krishna Math premises, on Sunday.

The drive was flagged off by Paryaya Shree Pejawara Swamiji by offering prayers at Kanandasa Mandir at Car Street. The drive was ended by offering prayers to Kanata idol at Badagumalige Kanaka Mantapa.

The team cleaned the premises of the math and drew attractive paintings at the parking lot. Three time food facility was made available for the volunteers at the math premises itself.

Renowned doctor Dr Vijayalakshmi Balekundri, former MLA Prameela Nesargi and other leaders took part in the drive.

Shree Shirooru, Shree Kaniyuru, Shree Vajradehi math swamiji’s along with others also took part in the programme.

Additional security was arranged for the safety of the devotees. Home Guards, KSRP and armed reserved police teams were deputed for the security purpose. Totally 750 extra additional police personnel were deputed for the security. SP K T Balakrishna was supervising the security.
