Mangalore : District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar said that the amount of Rs. 1.26 crore was released for the construction of a road in Amblamogaru and the amount of Rs. 1 crore had to be released for its repair recently.
He was speaking at the quarterly meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat to review the Karnataka Development Programme on October 22, Saturday.
The issues related to the lack of regular bus facilities in Chelar, Baikampady, Ira, and Manchi were also discussed. Palemar directed KSRTC officials to run bus facilities in rural areas. In reply RTO said that the department has given many temporary permits to private buses to ply to remote areas.
MLA U T Kader speaking on the occasion said that most of the times buses in cities are overcrowded because there are few buses, further Speaking on the bus facility issue, Khader said that most private buses are overcrowded because there are few buses, adding that RTO officials must be made responsible for any accidents taking place in city due to overcrowd.
The matter regarding improper distribution of fertilizers and compensations to farmers were also discussed. Criticizing private companies who were keeping stocks of fertilizers released by the government given to farmers and later selling them at higher rates, Dr. Vijayaprakash, the CEO of ZP, said that vigilance squads will be formed to prevent such things in future.
Pallemar said that the delay in issuing temporary door numbers of poor families in rural areas is because of the teething problems in the project.
