Mangalore : Pingara Balaga has decided to confer 6th Pingara Rajyothsava award for the year 2010 to Mand Soban for its contribution to the Konkani speaking people and gathering them irrespective of caste and religlion, said Editor of Pingara Raymond D’Cunha.
Speaking at the press meet held at press club on October 28, Thursday, he said that Pingara Kannada weekly determined to confer this award to Mand Soban to honour their service in the field of Konkani and encourages preserving its culture.
Dr L H Manjunath, executive director, Sri Dharmastala Gramabhivriddhi Yojana will the chief guest at the award function organized at Mangalore Town Hall on November 9 at 5.30 pm. Kemaru Esha Vittaladasa Seer of Sandeepani Sadhanashrama will give his blessings on the occasion. Sudheer P Ghate, president of Magnum Intergraphix will preside.
President of Alva’s Education Trust Dr Mohan Alva and Moodabidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain would be the honourary guest while Jyothika Jain, owner of Devika Sarees, will be the guest of honour Mr D’Cunha informed.
