Mangalore: The Konkani Kutam, Bahrain will confer its 11^th Konkani Kutam award on Vally Vagga, Mysore at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Hall, Bendore, Mangalore on July 28, Saturday at 6.30p.m.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on July 25, Wednesday Richard Moras, convener of Konkani Kutam,Bahrain said that, Konkani Kutam, Bahrain is a forum and to promote Konkani language, literature and culture. The forum is making an effort to support Konkani Writers and Artists, Konkani Kutam has introduced ‘Konkani Kutam Award’ in 2012.

He also said that the award is conferred by analyzing and evaluating the significant contribution to the Konkani cause. The Executive Committee has selected Vally Vagga, a renowned Konkani writer for his immensw contribution for the cause of Konkani language and literature. The award consists of a citation, memento and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.

Titus Noronha, Co-ordinator, Award Presentation Committee, Melwyn Rodrigues and William Pais were also present.
