Kundapur: A car toppled at near Maravanthe resulting in four people from Mangaluru has been sustained with minor injuries and an 8-year-old child is serious. The incident took place on Tuesday.

Mangaluru based family were plying towards Honnavara in Maruti Ritz car. The driver lost control over the car and the car toppled near Maraswami temple, Maravanthe. The car was toppled into the road side drain and due to the impact of it Kiona Pinto (8) has been injured seriously.

Other four from the car Sunny Lasrado, his mother Cecilia Lasrado (56), his elder sister Jasmine Pinto (36) and her child Khel Pinto (4) have sustained with minor injuries.

Over speed is known to be the reason for the incident. The car toppled three times after hitting a vehicle parked beside the road.

The injured has been admitted to Manipal hospital.

A case has been registered at Gangolli police station.
