Mangalore : State Minister or Health and Family Welfare UT Khader inaugurated the new building of the Primary Health Centre at Kudupu on July 8, Monday. The building has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.2 crores.
Speaking on the occasion, Khader urged the Primary Health Centres to offer better services to the people. He said considering the increasing cases of BP and diabetes in the state, the government was contemplating to make BP and diabetic screening compulsory for all above the age of 30.
He also stated that cancer detection units too would be provided to district level hospitals. He said out of the 4000 D group vacancies, 2600 have been filled.
He said the government was interested in appointing doctors on contract basis in north Karnataka.
Ramanatha Rai, District-in-Charge Minister, Mohideen Bava, MLA of Mangalore North constituency and others were present.
