Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada Ex-Servicemen Association in with District Lions Club and CIL observed the Kargil Vijay Divas at Lions Seva Mandir on Friday, July 26.

Speaking after inaugurating the event, Disha Amrith, 3rd BE Student of BMS Engineering College, Bangalore she said that she was always fascinated by the courage shown by the Ex-Servicemen. Further she will join the army and serve the country, she said.

Retd servicemen Purushotham Acharya, Alexander D’Silva, Novel Lobo and Cyril D’Souza were felicitated with shawl and citation for their service.

Ln K C Prabhu, MJF Lions District Governor, Lions International District 317 D presided over the event.

Organizers S Nandagopal, Rajesh Kamath, Bhaskar Pai and others were present.

The members of District unit of ABVP have also observed Kargil Vijay Divas at Kadri War Memorial.

Speaking on the occasion, Commander Mascarhenas said that many martyrs have given their life to protect country and people hence they must be remembered and respected.
