Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police Sonavane Rishikesh Bhagawan has been transferred by the state government and has been posted as the SP of Intelligence. SP Intelligence Amathe Vikram will take charge as the new SP of Dakshina Kannada.

Mangaluru : Deputy commissioner warned of a heavy rainfall that has been forecast for the coastal districts during the next five days. The district disaster management authority has issued a red alert on May 18 while an orange alert has been sounded out on May 17 and 19 in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district.
