Vittal : Hanuman (26) owner of the Mahalakshmi Textile Showroom at Empire Mahal in Vittal town was beaten up by a group of men which barged into the shop on September 11, Wednesday evening. It is said the group questioned Hanuman for misbehaving with one of the sales girls in his shop.

It is learnt the assailants also plundered the shop, robbed Hanuman’s gold ring and chain and also a cash of Rs 80,000. The assailants alleged that Hanuman misbehaved with the girl earlier in the day when other girls had gone out for lunch.

But the girl is learnt to have told the police that the shopkeeper has not misbehaved with her. A large crowd gathered in front of the shop. However the men who attacked the shop keeper had taken to heels by the time  the police arrived.The shopkeeper who is admitted to the hospital has lodged a police complaint.
