Hassan : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said his government had been successful in completing half its journey and had fulfilled a majority of the promises made in the poll manifesto during the last polls.
Addressing a huge crowd, after launching various development works, at the High School grounds, here, on Thursday, Siddaramaiah said the party was all set to fulfill the remaining assurances within the next two years and would come before the people, seeking fresh mandate, in the 2018 elections.
“The manifesto is like a Bible to me, which I follow with sincerity. Out of 165 assurances in the manifesto, the government has been able to fulfill 100 by now,” the chief minister said.
Siddaramaiah took the opportunity to highlight that it was he, who sanctioned government engineering and medical colleges for the district, when he was the finance minister. “I had sanctioned six medical colleges and Hassan is one among them. The authorities have been seeking more facilities for the college. A discussion in this regard will be held with the ministers concerned and facilities will be sanctioned,” he added.
The government has sanctioned six more medical colleges, and three of them will start functioning from the next academic year at Madikeri, Karwar and Chamarajanagar. Many criticise my government as Ahinda government. But the schemes implemented by the government reaches all sections of the people, he said.
District In-charge Minister A Manju, Home Minister G Parameshwara, Ministers Dr Sharanprakash Patil, M B Patil, MLAs H S Prakash and H D Revanna were present.
