Mangaluru: South Canara District Central Co-Operative Bank ltd organised felicitation and scholarship distribution programme at SCDCC bank premises on Saturday.

The event was organised in the commemoration of Molahalli Shivarav, who is known as god father of co-operative sector.

Former minister Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the programme.

On the occasion 18 students from Dakshina Kannada and udupi were felicitated for scoring highest ranks in SSLC and PU exams.

Speaking on the occasion Palemar said that Dr Rajendra should be appreciated for organising such a nice programme. Such programmes will motivate students to achieve more and more.

“This might be the only bank which supports education. The bank has achieved a lot to grow from a smaller one to bigger one. In a rare case a bank is giving scholarships to its employees children. We should really appreciate this effort,” he said.

Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, President of SCDCC bank, Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, vice president of SCDCC Bank were present on the occasion.
