Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo flagged off the ‘Clean City-Green City Walkathon 2016’ in city, organised by Mangaluru City Corporation along with the students and staff of the Beary Institute of Technology Mangaluru and Indian Green Building Council students’ chapter, on Sunday.

Procession of nearly 1200 students reached Mangalal Stadium from Nehru Maidan via RTO road, Hampankatta, KS Raod, PVS Circle, MG Road, Lalbagh and Lady Hill.

Addressing the gathering Mayor Harinath appreciated the organisors for taking initiative of the programme and complimented them for having concern towards clean Mangaluru city.

Dr Abdul Kareem Principal, Senior Advisor Dr S K Raikar, prof Mustafa Basthikodi and others were present on the occasion.
