Mangaluru: Suresh Ballal officially took charge as the new Chairperson of Mangaluru Development Authority (MUDA) at MUDA office on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion Ballal said that it was a surprise opportunity for him and he thanked the ministers and MLAs for recognising him as the suitable person for the post.

“I will try hard to complete all the pending development works undertaken by MUDA. Chelyar Padav and Deralakatte works which are pending now will be started within two months. Musical fountain at Kadri Park will be inaugurated in January. I will put hundred percent efforts to complete all the projects,” he said.

He further said that MLA J R Lobo has shown special interest in the development of the city. It is the third time he has been appointed as the MUDA chairman. MLAs and ministers wanted him to be the chairperson of MUDA.

“Mangaluru has been selected for smart city project. My aim is to beautify the city, by planting the saplings in and around the city. A multi stored parking construction has been proposed,” he added.
