Mangaluru : RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat on Wednesday said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has “demonic tendencies”. Bhat said he would never ask the CM to extend midday meal scheme for Sri Rama Vidya Kendra and Sri Devi Vidya Kendra run by him.
Bhat was in the city to receive rice, collected under ‘Bikshandehi’- a campaign to meet the daily food supply to schools, donated by scores of BJP and RSS supporters. The state government had recently withdrawn midday meal facility to the institutions and funds provided by the Mookambika temple.
Bhat told reporters that he will never ask Siddaramaiah to provide grants for midday meals to the students of his school. “Have you ever heard anyone begging with Kamsa, Ravana, and Kauravas (referred as demons in Hindu mythology). I am not comparing Siddaramaiah with these people. But the CM has demonic tendency,” he commented.
Bhat also invited Siddaramaiah and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai to his school to eat food with students. The government, elected by the people, should not work for a party, caste or religion. The elected representatives should work towards the welfare of the people. He urged Congress party leaders not to play revenge politics.
It is the government’s responsibility to offer education and food but the state government has failed to do so. Instead of developing Kannada language, the government has been closing government and Kannada medium schools, he alleged.
“Siddaramaiah became the CM in the name of ‘Ahinda’ and of the 3,500 students studying in Sri Rama School, 94% belong to backward communities and the CM has deprived food to these children,” Bhat alleged.
BJP leader S A Ramdas, B S Prashanth of Safe Wheels Group of Companies and others handed over 555 bags of rice each weighing 25 kgs.
