Mangaluru: Just like the Class 10 and the second year Pre-University Course results, the results of first year P.U. students of Dakshina Kannada will be available online.
The Dakshina Kannada Pre University College Principals’ Association has revamped its website www.dkpucpa.com to have ‘SuVidya’, a web-based application for providing results online. Students need to enter their registration number and the date of birth to access the marks.
The first year PU examination starts from Thursday and the results will be announced on March 31. They will be available to students on the same day.
The association will be the first in the State to have this online system for processing first year PUC results. “This is a good and hassle-free system of announcing results. I will ask other districts too to adopt such a system,” said Director of Pre-University Board C. Shikha after launching it during the meeting of PUC principals here on Wednesday.
K.K. Upadhaya, principal, Madhusudhan Kushe Pre-University College, the teacher behind the initiative, said the intention of the association was to have transparent way of announcing the results. Hitherto, colleges were bringing the marksheets physically to the office of the Deputy Director of Pre-University Education for clearance. Not all colleges were announcing the results on the same day, he said.
With the new system, the PU Colleges will feed the marks in the system and the same will be available online for approval of Deputy Director of the Pre-University Department. Once the official approves, the results will be available to students.
The online system has been developed by Shivamogga-based firm Aculogics, which has been providing end-to-end system of management for several educational institutions in the State.
Aculogics’s Software architect Satish P.K. Bhat said SuVidya was developed in a month and covered all the steps involved in processing the marks. Apart from being convenient for students to see results, SuVidya helps college principals and the Deputy Director in the analysis of results by providing it in different formats – namely block-wise, subject-wise and language-wise. It also helped in generating hall tickets and temporary marks cards.
Mr. Bhat said this web-based application will be on the cloud server of firm. It was designed in a way that there will be no slow down if there was increase in the number of hits. Mr. Bhat said the details of all 38,402 first PU students have been incorporated in SuVidya.
