Mangaluru: In relation to the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections, the first phase of checking the voting machine and VVPAT has been successfully completed. In the second phase, a mock election will be conducted in the presence of political party representatives, informed Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil.
He was speaking at a meeting conducted at Mangaluru Corporation for the political party representatives of Mangaluru North Constituency.
A week before the elections, all booth level officials will visit house to house and distribute voter slip. Two days prior to the elections, BLO’s will be available at individual booths and the voters can get their elections slip from the BLO. If not possible, voter slip will be made available at the booth on the day of election.
The voter slip given by the BLO’s will be a duplicate of the official registration. On the day of election, the voters will have to submit the voter slip along with the voter ID and then cast their votes. But the voter slip provided by various political parties will have no value, informed the DC.
