Mangaluru : Mangaluru city police have arrested three persons for allegedly stabbing a bus conductor at Ganeshpura in Surathkal late on Wednesday night.
Conductor Jabid, a resident of Krishnapura, was stabbed on his left rib by three bike-borne miscreants while he was returning home after work with two others at 10.45pm. A trivial issue between them is said to have turned violent.
After registering a complaint, Mangaluru city police arrested Srinivas, Raju and Abhishek, all in 18-20 age group. Srinivas of Katipalla has three cases booked against him apart from the latest one. Raju is an accused in two cases. Police have seized a bike and lethal weapons used during the crime.
A case has been registered at Surathkal police station.
Social Democratic Party of India has condemned the incident and demanded a probe into the incident. Such incidents will further lead to communal tension in the district, it said.
