Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada reported 1,006 new coronavirus cases and 15 deaths. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 10.07% on Friday, June 19.

A total of 9,43,109 samples have been tested so far, out of which 8,55,759 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 87,350, out of which 6,931 are currently active. As many as 665 patients were discharged from hospitals and total number of recoveries to 79,395 on Friday.

The district recorded 15 deaths due to coronavirus on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,024.

The district administration has collected Rs 85,85,767 in fines for 70,960 mask violations.

Udupi

Udupi district reported  188 new cases and 3 deaths on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 41,405, out of which 2,167 are currently active.

As many as 2,81,542 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus. A total of 330 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 39,059 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 179 lives in the district, including three on Friday.
