Bangaluru : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the 216th edition of the Lal Bagh Flower Show today, celebrating the theme of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s contributions. The event, organized for Independence Day, runs from August 8 to August 19.
Speaking to the media, Siddaramaiah emphasized the enduring relevance of Ambedkar and highlighted that the flower show offers a unique opportunity for people to learn about the aspirations of the Constitution. He noted that Dr. Ambedkar, known as the architect of the Constitution, believed in achieving political freedom through economic and social equality.
The flower show features an exhibition depicting Ambedkar’s major achievements from his childhood through his lifetime, allowing visitors to learn about his aspirations and contributions. Siddaramaiah stressed that understanding the Constitution is essential for following it.
The CM mentioned that around 12 lakh people are expected to attend the flower show, which showcases about 30 lakh flowers from different states, including Karnataka. The exhibition covers important topics such as Ambedkar’s life achievements, his contributions to the country, his struggle for social justice, his acceptance of Buddhism, and his crucial role in the Constitution Drafting Committee.
