Udupi : S L Bhoje Gowda, JD(S) leader from Chikmagalur filed his nomination papers at deputy commissioner Dr M T Reju’s office on Feb 28, Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, former chief minister and state party president H D Kumaraswamy said that if Congress party believes in secular ideals and force, then it needs to withdraw its candidate from the election.
He criticized former CM Yeddyurappa of misusing the name of JD(S) to remove chief minister Sadananda Gowda and he has been using the name of JD(S) for his own personal motives.
He said that JD(S) has won in eight elections, out of past 20 elections.
MLA Zameer Ahmed, JD(S) district president Deviprasad Shetty were present when the papers were filed.
