Bangalore: State BJP Chief Eshwarappa is in for trouble following his alleged statement at a function at Shimoga wherein he had hailed primary and high school education minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri ‘for his efforts to saffonise the education system” and asked him to continue it.
The JD(S) has now lodged a complaint against Eshwarappa in this regard with the Chief Election Officer and has demanded action against the state government under the provisions of the Representation of People’s Act, talking cognizance of Eshwarappa’s statement.
JD(S) Spokesperson YSV Dutta said Eshwarappa through his statement had proved that the BJP government was indulging in unconstitutional acts.
He also warned that the JD(S) would launch an agitation against the government act of permitting purchase of farm lands in Mudhol for Nirani Sugars, a factory owned by Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani.
